Finally an update on everything and nothing

So here we sit, keyboard tapping and no true news to report. 

Funny how long its been, with delays being hidden on hopes and dreams of sharing good news.  

Words hung up on wishes.

In truth we know that greatness rarely comes easy, especially to this motley crew.

Yet, as we reflect, scream and plan we are humbled by the year that has come to pass.

We have had enough wins to warrant a pat on the back...

and perhaps grant ourselves a little grace 

We can confidently say we are giving it our all.  

Not sure if we are still crawling or snuck in some baby steps.....but forward is forward!

Let CRA be the judge 🤣

Which as of right now....have asked for more clarification.....

Which we are eager to share....however the phone call of help soared high over my head! 

Arms flinging to grab any detail I could grab.....to help capture the point form reply they eagerally await! 

Insert the plea to lawyers here! 

One lawyer office quickly and kindly crushed our dreams...while another stood tall reassuring us they were confident in our cause just not brave enough to offer us their guarantee. 

Funny to finally have the funds to ask for help (yeah think on that one)

And were willing to have someone help us navigate this step

And yet do not trust the system enough to trade the funds we could help others with....to hopefully....maybe....possibly have lawyers work their mad skills. 

Instead we will claw our way forward.....and take pride in everything we have accomplished.

  • We have custom flags flying with our logo (a pretty mad slam of Geoffs military career and my zoo career) 
  • Merchadise and uniforms hung and available (Cricket for the win! kinda sorta- insert smile here!) 
  • We have a website tucked away in Geoffs mind waiting for us to sprinkle a little professionalism into our chaos
  • We successfully welcomed guests aboard, sharing the beauty, peace and reset they deserve.
  • We filed and recived word back from CRA

Overall at least a few baby steps forward.... 

But as always we are chasing BIGGER DREAMS! 

So whats next you might ask? 

Well? 

This moment says....

* reply to CRA and plead your case and try to navigate the point form language they have asked for to check all the boxes

* get OUR Captains license (this means we can legally accept payment for charters aka refresh the pot to better serve our heros! And help them heal) Although finding out how exactly to get the legal checks is as easy as getting approved for Charity status

* Upgrade the boat (again) to well a too be announced boat (backnup plan # 82 1/2 located in Toronto OR if the stars align our power catamaran 

Just to be clear

Its not about having a fancy boat it about having a boat that makes sense and is SAFE for our guests here in Canada and in the beautiful blue of the Bahamas!

And well there is always the pride swallowing, soul search to cast a hail Mary out with a GoFundMe and fundraisers.....

But hey let's take that breathe...

And not get to far ahead of ourselves

Right now in THIS moment....

We are grateful for the people like YOU have have given up that 30 seconds of your life to read this nonsense. 

Who has chosen to allow yourself to drift off (if only for a moment) into this what if world with us! 

We dont want to bore you or waste your time....but hey if your willing to pick up a paddle and push us forward than heave ho!

Here's to the adventures ahead! Because if your reading these words your just as much of a hopeless romantic as us! 

So let us sail these seas together because this life dusted in all its frustrations is way to beautiful to be anything other than more beautiful than your wildest dreams!

So off we go.....to the unknown wonders of us hopeless dreamers

Helllllo Charity Status!

  Well hello there! Once again its been a hot minute.  But hey we have been busy chasing dreams and making momories! As many of you know we found out in February that we had been granted official charity status! This is HUGE for us! What that means is that I might return to tapping on these keys. Although the goal might be a little different than past blogs, we do want to keep everyone up to date on where we are at with things. So with that said lets dive into it. With receiving charity status, it means we can truly launch into fundraising and that mad dash to upgrade the boat one last time! 4800 km to go! But whos counting!

Another pin in our hats and a notch in our belts! Thats right...we are heading back! We had a few guests take us up on our offer to come visit, although not as many as we had hoped or thought might come.  But than again we didn't really know what to expect. Either way we are happy to have had the chance to share a piece of this chapter with you!  And remind you and others that our doors are always open! Canada is just as beautiful in its own way, as the blue seas of the Bahamas! We think it will be sometime before we venture down this way on a boat again. We learned that others were right! It wasn't a cheap trip, BUT it was worth every penny.... We prefer to live our life than wish we had! With that said....time to start saving again! (we are dreamers but we aren't stupid - we still have more dreams to live!)
