Atlantic City

With ever high there comes a low...

With even the best days needing to be challenged.

The Ying and Yang of life. Reminding us of the value of each.

After all even a high tide is followed by a low tide.

Luckily for us, we both have learned to find the worth in each.

Our 'Dolphin Day' was met with the parting from our buddy boat....and perhaps even more humbling our first true ocean day alone.

The morning we set out, we never could have imagined what was awaiting us. And thank the heavens for that. I'm not sure we would have left the dock. But then again we might just have chosen our time differently. Later we learned NEVER leave an inlet on and Ebb flow. (This is important)

We were greeted by waves that easily engulfed the boat. Choosing a side, and avoiding the middle of the inlet.....we soon understood and were grateful for this local wisdom!

Waves crashing and breaking....to our right.....we could see the swell challenging our timing.

Waves bigger than either of us would have ever chosen to adventure out in....however now that choice was made and there was no turning back!

Later when we had returned to the safety of what we were used too...ans some how the almoat new normal.

We both sat grateful for the other, tears brimming our eyes and breakfast scraping at our throats!

We had made this choice together....and from it learned yet again to remain humble.

This day we didn't have the joy of dolphins....but we were slowly making our way. Step by step....wave by wave.

Deciding to not push to far, we came to rest in Atlantic City. Safe again within the Marina.

Awaiting for yet another storm to pass, we recognize how each experience has helped us grow. Has helped us push forward through the uncomfortable and allowing us to continue to develop our skills. Both understanding the lessons may be different but both of us embraced our own version of this journey!

We will say that Atlantic City is not a place to spend any time.

The streets are littered with skat and garbage. Windows appear to have been shot in.....and buildings have been boarded up and abandoned.

For us a mark of a city built on greed and lose.

We will say that this stop still holds ita value! Here we have met more amazing people!

From future loopers to current loopers!

Sharing stories of encouragement for those unsure. We hope to help take the leap!

Because it surely has been a wonderful journey and one that we will forever cherish!

When's the last time you had new found friends drop off warm home made bread baked with love to your door?

These are the people we meet!

The ones living dreams and finding a way!

They are out there.

So next time you scurry by someone perhaps it's worth taking the time to raise your gaze and share a sincere hello!

Make time for those random conversations....you might just be amazed at how much they bring to your life.

Here we go again!

Back up and running thanks to our dear friend Bill!

Homemade sour dough bread baked with love by our new dock mates! And fellow loopers 'Ablelene'

Apparently hell froze over!

Staying grounded - thanks Kim!

Today we learned why so many sailors drink!
'Breakfast beers because it's been a long day already!

Such a smooth start to the day....
