Hello my friends ( Fort Lauderdale)

Hello again our dear friends,
Not sure who has missed us, or who has checked in but here we are again.

We will see how long it lasts but for now....We are here.

Just like anyone and any tasks, we are living moment by moment and focusing our energy on what feels right.

This trip has been a journey, to say the very least.

Both in miles our dear boat has safely guided us through to those that are now branded into our souls.

Memories we will cherish, and those that we are happy to say we survived.

All in all, tis life.

No matter WHAT you are doing....life will happen.

Things you see on social media will allow you to use up all your positive energy glorifying someone else's life at the cost of your own. Such a strange creature we are.

After working so long with so many different animals, humans are by far the ones I will never understand. We pride ourselves on being this superior creature, untouched by any other species, and yet with it comes the cost of being in the moment, and being content and happy.

Leaving me to wonder who is truly the most evolved?

Even a three legged dog still wags its tail.

So now what has happened.....

We are now safely in Fort Lauderdale; Florida.

The sun is shining, the ocean is a mere dinghy ride away....and for the most part the people are lovely.

The things we never imagined for such a boating community is the lack of love for boaters! Trying to follow the rules, we still seek out pumps outs (yep for those that are wondering its true that everybody poops - and it has to go somewhere) for us we tried to have this be a sewer system BUT for Southern Florida this does not seem to be the case! Makes wanting to swim here a little less desirable.

Last week we actually stayed at a marina for a whopping 250 US a night!!!!!! (bring on the go fund me page - kidding) With the winds picking up we were unable to leave the dock...leaving us stuck at a marina we swore we would never go to after being made to feel unwelcome on our first go there. But hey options are limited and we believe in second chances. (they failed by the way)

While there we of course were greeted by a MASSIVE wind storm.

Seems like the one thing we can guarantee is the "never before" or "record breaking" weather wherever we cast our anchor.

Leading to another sleepless night....

We have never been through a Hurricane BUT if that wasn't one...we sure would like to never have too say we have. However I did learn that it being an "unnamed storm" means that our insurance is still just a phone call away! (see even a Hurricane has a silver lining)

For the first time ever....we actually locked ourselves in the V-Berth (small bed area where we sleep most nights) With everything that we could do done....we nestled in and listened as our boat was ripped apart. Leaving us without any canvas/shade (some which had just been replaced) and our brand new yet to be even used - Solar Panels.

In the morning, as we walked around the uprooted trees and flooded streets, we reminded ourselves just our lucky and grateful we were. This storm may have taken some of our belongings but it left behind lessons and moments of harsh reflection that will most likely alter the course of our futures.

Life will always happen, and with each day we are guided (or thrown) into the next.

Tumbling or twirling through the next lesson and hopefully moment of growth.

So here we are days later....I am sitting once again at the computer (donated by a dear friend of ours) writing this blog....for anyone who wishes to read it.

Throwing out random lessons into the world...hoping that they might just catch with even one soul out there that needs to hear them.

After all you never know who needs to hear what YOU have to say.....

So today as you nestle yourself into bed...or find yourself filled with envy for something you dream up in your head about someone you don't even know....remember to take the time to put that same effort into your own life and accomplishments - and to be grateful for everything YOU have accomplished today! As silly as it sounds...looking at your own life through someone else's eyes might just let you get to know yourself a wee bit better.
