We Made it! - George Town, Bahamas!
Such a strange day....
The day we finally made it.
It seemed as tho we kept setting new finish lines...and new goals
First Florida.... then Bimini and then finally the morning we set out towards George town.
This wasn't intentional but hey living in the moment does funny things.
Subconsciously, setting achievable goals and making time to celebrate every win!!
(which I think means we are progressing and finding our way outside the restraints of our past lives)
This time though, this goal.....it was different, we felt it in the belly of our emotions!
Both of us knew that THIS was the true finish line.
It was some years ago that we flew down to visit friends in this exact location, to stay on their boat.
Neither one of us ever even dreaming that we would one day make the journey on our own boat!
Instead, we were in awe that we had friends that were kind enough to share this opportunity with little ol' us.
Snickering to ourselves, as we wondered if they actually ever thought we would say yes :)
(they cleary didn't know us well enough- heck we were even surprised!)
We laughed at the idea of them quickly rethinking their invite only to find it too late, and plane tickets purchased and plans made!
(silly friends-yes yes we realize we are doing the exact same thing!! and yes we want you to say YeS)
We lived the whole time, grateful for the opportunity, without understanding how it had woven a new thread into our future!
(you truly never know when life will begin to pave a new path, and how each opportunity can truly change the course of your life without you even knowing!)
As our feet found familiar ground, memories rushed back intensified by the mixing of the gratefulness of the past and the sense of accomplishment of the present.
An amazing day, that marked an accomplishment neither one of us could have ever even imagined!
And you guys know that we live to dream big!!
So how we missed this....Im not sure...but its a reminder that life has your back!
With all of this said, this has been a challenge that has tested us each on a personal level.
Often daily.
For those of you that ask what our favourite part was..... I think THAT (↑) is the answer.
This journey has changed us both for the better, and helped mold us into being better people
We have over come SO much, that words will never be able to capture it.
And its just now as I write this, that I have found an answer to that oh so popular question!
Before this moment we stumbled over memories of favorite locations, and those that held the "at least we didn't die"! slogan.
This than was shortened to those slogan moments.....
Sounds anti-positive (I know) however with so so many amazing and beautiful locations and people it was easier to list the handful of times we were truly tested!
The next question that spins in our minds is now what!
We lived each day for the last 6 months with George Town in our sights....
We had a goal....
and now that we are here...what does that mean?
We of course still have those that hopefully will come to visit, which truly was the whole intention of this trip.
Our goal remains that we want to share this lifestyle and every opportunity we have with others!
So for those brave souls willing to camp out on the water, the doors are open!
We still dream of owning a 40-42 ft Leopard Sailing Catamaran, so that we can truly host you with style....but hey....our little girl made it :) (weather she comes back with us is yet to be written)
So let the visits begin!
And the unknown continue...
But hey life has our backs...right?
Great things are always right there....if your brave enough to say yes!
So stay tuned because I am sure there is a plot twist coming!
There always is :)
You've come this far.....
You might as well enjoy the surprise with us- because life has yet to offer a sneak peek!
