Day 1: George Town to Staniel Cay

George town to Staniel Cay
Bahamas

Just over 1/4 tank of gas
106 km (only 4700 more to go)

We decided to try our luck at the Ocean, these days have been far and few between.

I am sure if you have been lucky enough to have sunk your toes into the shores of any ocean....you quickly jumped back with glee as it rushed passed your knees.

Waves crashing the shore....creating the soothing 'familiar' white noise.....so many people find so peaceful.

The problem when you live on a boat....is getting passed those waves....and out into the safety of the unknown beyond.

Wondering if today she will be a friend or foe?

On this day she was kind :)
And after a day in the sun, deepening our tans we arrived safely at our anchorage!

The best part of the trip back is knowing some of the spots we can quietly tuck away in.

Funny I know!
There is something about seeing everything for the first time and yet the safety of the known.

In this case we hope to make it back quickly and safely! Which means today we lean in to the safety and beauty of knowing this will most likely be our last time here? (At least on this boat!)

Stanial Cay: Crown of Thorns Cut

Gasoline:
$ 1154 Canadian
$855 American

Second run at stocking up on groceries!

What I wouldn't give for cold water and fresh fruit!

For now we sit a little closer to home....in paradise.

'Stuck' in one of our most favorite spots through out the Bahamas!

We had hoped to push on today but life has gentle reminded us with her changing winds and forecast, that perhaps it's time to take a breath and soak up a few more memories!

Tomorrow is another day!
And if gifted it, we hope to rejoin the journey home!
