Hard Stop - Cape May
Well our progress has come to a stand still.
We remain anchored out in Cape May, as the weather continues to roar with reminders that she is in charge.
We remain grateful that we had pushed off when we did, hoping to make a quick and uneventful journey home.
Of courses that is never the case, no matter what life you lead!
But hey, you can only make choices based on the things you can control.
And that we did!
So now we wait.
Trying to busy our minds, and live in the memories this journey has brought.
Knowing that there are always lulls to deepen the lessons of life.
Yet we still find ourselves laughing, and grateful that after who knows how long of living on the boat, and I mean truly living in a small space with what we will say almost no ability to even go for a walk.....
We wouldn't have it any other way!
How many people truly can say that they know the person they share their life with?
Trust me....there are no secrets on a 32 ft boat in the middle of know where!
Good or bad....we embrace it all with grateful hearts!
Our progress home has sadly slowed.
There have been reported Tornados, which even for those non-boaters out there, you know that that means its a tad windy out!
With our engine still down, we have to be extra careful on when we make the trek home.
With the haunting reality that even if we make it back on the boat....what that means.
She has been good to us, but its time for her to rest.
One of our dear friends sent us a link to a new potential home, I laughed out loud as its the ONE boat Geoff has deemed to be the ugliest boat created!
The kicker is, that when we actually stopped to look at the link...low and behold....its perfect for us!
It has every feature we have asked for...from the extended swim platform, to bunks for guests to a kitchenette to dine in with the added bonus of being a little closer to reality in price than our goal Catamaran!
But first things first....GET HOME!
With the weather windows looking like they are at least a few weeks before we can head out again, its time to hunker down and enjoy the quiet.
Going from 11 hour days to day 6 and counting of not even leaving the boat.....our next challenge is clearly set.
With curiosity of what lessons these days will hold.
Thankfully we have learned some of our limitations, and with 2 more ocean days to go....this might all be about learning to be even more patient.
