 As she often does,  life has thrown yet another curve ball.  Just the boater style! After finally settling on a plan to make our way back to Florida (as promptly as we could) One engine decided to refuse to head home! "We" went through everything we could think of.....and just when we thought we were making progress, there of course was yet another new development! Luckily we have 2 engines!  However, we sure would like to make our epic redeeming crossing with both available too us! Instead of relying on our SeaTow as our back up! But hey some back up is better than none! Luckily for us, our Bahamian family did not disappoint. There is a reason we struggle to leave this place.  We have come to call these beautiful souls "family"  Each of them adding a layer to our lives that we never even knew was missing! Even as we returned to local shops and restaurants, people welcomed us with hugs and hellos! With all of that said there was still some very very touch ...

We are back safe and sound in Bimini (South) Our goal was to make it to our push off point, so that we could be ready for when the weather granted us the opportunity to head a little closer to home. This next part of the trip will be a BIG one for us.... For those that read the blog of our original crossing, or heck had messaged us your concerns during this time, we don't have to remind you just how scary and unsettling it was! This time we are determined to apply EVERY lesson we have learned and redeem ourselves. However, even in our "rush" to get back here, the Bahamas was sure to cram in as many lifelong memories as it could.   While we waited in Staniel Cay to head out....Geoff had the opportunity to once again jump in and swim with one of the largest Nurse Sharks yet! George town to Staniel Cay Bahamas ********************************************** Just over 1/4 tank of gas 106 km (only 4700 more to go)  ********************************************** We decided to try our luck at the Ocean, these days have been far and few between. I am sure if you have been lucky enough to have sunk your toes into the shores of any ocean....you quickly jumped back with glee as it rushed passed your knees.  Waves crashing the shore....creating the soothing ' familiar ' white noise.....so many people find so peaceful. The problem when you live on a boat....is getting passed those waves....and out into the safety of the unknown beyond. Wondering if today she will be a friend or foe? On this day she was kind :)  And after a day in the sun, deepening our tans we arrived safely at our anchorage!  The best part of the trip back is knowing some of the spots we can quietly tuck away in.  Funny I know!  There is something about seeing everything ...

Another pin in our hats and a notch in our belts! Thats right...we are heading back! We had a few guests take us up on our offer to come visit, although not as many as we had hoped or thought might come.  But than again we didn't really know what to expect. Either way we are happy to have had the chance to share a piece of this chapter with you!  And remind you and others that our doors are always open! Canada is just as beautiful in its own way, as the blue seas of the Bahamas! We think it will be sometime before we venture down this way on a boat again. We learned that others were right! It wasn't a cheap trip, BUT it was worth every penny.... We prefer to live our life than wish we had! With that said....time to start saving again! (we are dreamers but we aren't stupid - we still have more dreams to live!) Finally settling in, We find ourselves ALMOST getting into a routine or at least starting to think about what we want that routine to look like. The funniest part is that before we even get it going we will be on the move again with a list of new excuses. It's been amazing to learn just how much our old thinking habits exist no matter where we are and what we are faced with. Finding time and the motivation to work out...still comes in waves... Our need to step back and look at the finances  finds us slipping back....hearing the voices of everyone who told us just how expensive this would be!  We thought we could resist the temptations of beach beers with new friends and tasty meals from local restaurants. Turns out we can't! (heaven help us) Thinking that once we get home maybe we can get back on track!  The typical life approach of not dealing with the truth today and sweeping it to tomorrow. After looking at the numbers....and weighing our options and emotions we are ba...

Such a strange day.... The day we finally made it. It seemed as tho we kept setting new finish lines...and new goals First Florida.... then Bimini and then finally the morning we set out towards George town. This wasn't intentional but hey living in the moment does funny things. Subconsciously, setting achievable goals and making time to celebrate every win!! (which I think means we are progressing and finding our way outside the restraints of our past lives) This time though, this goal.....it was different, we felt it in the belly of our emotions! Both of us knew that THIS was the true finish line. It was some years ago that we flew down to visit friends in this exact location, to stay on their boat. Neither one of us ever even dreaming that we would one day make the journey on our own boat! Instead, we were in awe that we had friends that were kind enough to share this opportunity with little ol' us.  Snickering to ourselves, as we wondered if they actually ever thought we wo...

Human nature is a funny one.... Locked into everything that doesn't serve us. Some people see it, and strive to break free and forge their own path.  Yet even then the struggle to not fall into old habits seems almost impossible.  Today we awoke to a beautiful anchorage!  The waters are what is often featured on post cards.  The beaches are soft with sand as white as snow, but of course warm to every step as what feels like soft powder pushes up between your toes.  Surrounded by breath taking hills and caves that shelter you from the winds, it's a rare moment of safety. The catch? Twice a day the moment rolls around when you must decide if NOW is when you push on.  Only twice a day will the water be replenished enough to allow for safe passage outside its walls.  And to be honest one of these happens at night fall, which means really you have 1 option.  A decision that must be made everyday....
